The removal of Nicolás Maduro represents a historic turning point for the people of Venezuela and a clear signal that tyranny, corruption, and repression have no permanent place in the Americas. When the United States leads with strength and conviction, the cause of liberty advances- not only for one nation, but for an entire region.
Earlier this year, RNHA had the honor of hosting an Inauguration Ball in January 2025, where we invited Edmundo González, the legitimate democratic leader of Venezuela. His presence was a powerful reminder that the fight for freedom was not lost – and that change was coming. At that moment, we knew freedom was near, and Today that belief has been affirmed.
RNHA extends its congratulations to Secretary of State Marco Rubio for his steadfast leadership in advancing a foreign policy rooted in national sovereignty, democratic values, and accountability. We also recognize the leadership of the Secretary of War and the men and women who serve to defend peace, regional stability, and American security.
RNHA Chairwoman Elisa Slider issued the following statement: “Today is a historic victory for freedom. We thank the administration -especially President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio -for their bold leadership and unwavering resolve. The capture of Nicolás Maduro is a blessing for the Venezuelan people and a turning point for democracy. This is a day of hope, justice, and celebration-for Venezuela and for all who stand for freedom.”
RNHA Vice Chairman Luis Figueroa added, “This moment reminds us that freedom is worth defending. Strong leadership matters, and when America leads with conviction, the cause of liberty moves forward. RNHA has always stood with those fighting for democracy, and Today that stand has been vindicated.”
